While looking through things that Victoria is well known for, came across a photo of a women in the 1950s, dressed up for the Melbourne Cup. This lead to look into one of Australia's well known event, The Melbourne Cup for inspiration into this design.
The Horses
Horses have very toned, muscular bodies. They have large hips, thin long legs, wide hooves , long thick neck and large head. They wear Blinkers, hoods, saddles, reins and bridle. The horses can be seen wearing these at the Melbourne Cup, on and off the field. To control or to protect?
Tailored Jacket
When looking at the Melbourne Cup throughout history and current day, Men have always worn tailored Jacket, either be more classical or patterned or other modern day unique styles. I've taking aspects of both classical and modern day tailored jacket, to give this modern women, a powerful look.
